STMM AT A GLANCE



 School of Multi Media “MMTC” Yogyakarta (STMM “MMTC” Yogyakarta) is a State-owned higher education institution under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Republic of Indonesia. STMM “MMTC” Yogyakarta was established in 1985 and known as Multi Media Training Center. It was a training center under the Department of Information which was inaugurated by the former President of Republic of Indonesia, Soeharto, on 31 July 1985. Multi Media Training Center was a training center for civil servants of RRI and TVRI, national radio and television station, coming from all over Indonesia. As the time goes by and the era rapid development, then Multi Media Training Center began to spread its wings, in 2001 we started to open an enrollment for Local Government civil servants and Senior High School graduates.

 

After having several changes and development, finally on 21 April 2014, Presidential Decree Number 33 year 2014 about the establishment of School of Multi Media was signed. Considering that School of Multi Media is under the coordination of Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Republic of Indonesia then as the follow up of the Presidential Decree, Minister of Communication and Information Technology Decrees Number 29 Year 2014 about Organization and Management of School of Multi Media and Number 37 Year 2014 about School of Multi Media Statutes as the basis of education operational in STMM were declared.

 

STMM conducts Diploma IV and Undergraduate programs with three Departments. Broadcasting Departments which is a Diploma IV Program has three program studies; those are Management of Broadcasting Content Production, Management of News Production, and Management of Production Studio Technique. Animation and Design of Game Technology Department is a Diploma IV Program that consists of Animation Study Program and Design of Game Technology Study Program. Then, Department of Public Information and Communication has one Undergraduate program that is Management of Information and Communication.

 

Beside conducting formal education, STMM also develops cooperation with various institutions including government and private institutions, education institutions, and public. The cooperation is in the form of human resource development through graduate programs (master and doctoral programs), the implementation of technical training and facility leasing.

 

In accordance with the vision of Becoming the best Center for Multi Media Higher Education in Indonesia that fits the international standard, STMM is committed to provide professional and skilled professionals who are ready to compete in Communication and Information Technology (Broadcasting and Multimedia) and develop Three Missions of University (Tri Dharma) implementation which covers education / learning, research and community service.

 

In ensuring its education quality, STMM also involves public figures who are experts in the field of science held by STMM. As stated in STMM Statute, the implementation of Higher Education involves Board of Trustees who is chaired by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X and as Vice Chairman is Prof. Dr. Haryono Suyono. While other members of the Board of Trustees STMM are Garin Nugroho, Dr. Ishadi SK., M.Sc., Dr. Ir. Basuki Yusuf Iskandar, MA and Prof. Wiendu Nuryanti.

 

Along with the development of time and era, it is expected that STMM becomes one of state higher education institutions that is able to meet the needs and expectations of the society and nation; then can also realize its vision to becoming the best Center for Multi Media Higher Education in Indonesia that fits the international standard.
